Check out our dog friendly guide to Dorset

As a dog-loving digital marketing agency based in Bournemouth, we thought that we’d share our favourite dog-friendly areas and activities in the Dorset area. Our miniature Jack Russell mascot Milo has approved these dog friendly walks for your pleasure so here are some of his top picks!

1. Bournemouth Beach

Between October and April, Bournemouth and Poole’s beaches are open to humans and canines alike so get your lead and your wellies out and get walking! During the summer months there are certain stretches of beach that are dog friendly. More information can be found here.

2. Badbury Rings and Kingston Lacy

Kingston Lacy is an elegant country mansion with wonderful gardens and a woodland walk that you and your dog can enjoy. Badbury Rings is part of the Kingston Lacy Estate, owned by the National Trust. This pre-Roman hill fort is an interesting walk for those who love a bit of history and you can walk around the rings in under an hour. The car park is free with an optional donation to help maintain the land.

3. Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle offers spectacular views of the surrounding area so take a break and pack a picnic with your pooch. You can also relax with a cream tea at the end of your visit for a slice of sophistication! As a National Trust Heritage Site you’ll be helping to preserve the future of the castle by visiting.

4. Lulworth Cove

Explore the Jurassic Coast with your best friend and appreciate the beauty of this World Heritage Site. From the Cove you can visit Durdle Door Holiday Park and observe some of the best unspoiled coastal views of Dorset. Middle Beach and Durdle Door Beach are open year round to the public.

5. Old Harry Rocks Cliff-top Walk

Another World Heritage site, Old Harry Rocks is a brilliant cliff-top walk for you and your dog – just remember to keep them on the lead! This walk lasts a couple of hours and is a circular walk ending up at the Bankes Arms pub.

Dorset is a beautiful county full of walks for the discerning nature lover. From the coast to inner woodland, you can spend endless days exploring with your dog.
